BLOOM pt. 1

Spring.

A time of year when things that LOOKED dead show evidence of the fact that they are actually alive!

For many people, this is a favorite time of year.

This year, it has me thinking about quite a few things.

So often, in our lives we look around and think everything is just dead. We want change. To really get it we think that we need to move, get married, have another child, add onto our homes, get a different car, SOMETHING.

I'll admit, so long as I'm the instigator for change, I often crave it.

As I sat and listened to a missionary speak at church yesterday morning, I saw something.

I realized for the first time in a long time that I am where I am because that is where God wants me.

I should not be seeking to bring about change or hold off change in my life.

Rather, I should begin each and every day praying:

LORD, only you know what today holds and I trust you to guide me where you will that I may be a faithful minister of the Gospel that is changing me.

A verse that the Lord has brought to my attention this morning and many other mornings over the last year or so says it quite well:

"And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?'

Then I said, 'Here am I! Send me.'"

Isaiah 6:8
